Description:

Required for September 2019 to work at St Hugh’s School (multisite) with students aged 11-19 years with complex learning, sensory, physical, communication and educational needs.

Main responsibilities will be to assist in the planning, teaching and assessing the differentiated curriculum and in developing, implementing and evaluating individual targets and individual behaviour plans, under the general direction of the teacher.

Description:

This is an exciting opportunity for a classroom support assistant to develop their skills in a specialist setting and develop new skills.

Required to start as soon as possible at St. Hugh’s School to work with students aged 11-19 years with complex learning, sensory, physical, communication and educational needs.

Main responsibilities will be;

  • To work closely with the school staff for children with additional needs, on an individual basis and within a group setting.  
  • To focus on the assessment and implementation of alternative and augmentative communication systems both low and high tech with support from therapists and education staff.
  • Deliver speech and language therapy programmes, record progress made and inform future reviews and assessments.
  • Liaise with classroom staff regarding wider implementation of SaLT objectives.
