Head Teacher: Tracy Millard

Description:

We are looking for a dynamic and innovative specialist music teacher who see this as an opportunity to further develop our music curriculum in our special needs setting. The role also includes opportunities to use music as a therapy approach. This is initially a fixed term contract which will be reviewed. Candidates must have an understanding of the developmental learning needs of children. Experience of working in a special school is not essential.

This is an excellent opportunity for a colleague to extend their continuous professional development working across school. If you have a passion for teaching to improve the life chances for children, this is an opportunity for you.

St. Hugh’s School is a well-resourced, purpose built school for students aged 11 to 19 years with moderate/severe learning difficulties/profound and multiple learning needs, many of whom have additional needs, ASD and complex medical needs. We are an outstanding school as inspected by Ofsted September 2018. Much of our curriculum and pedagogy is of a primary nature.

Welcome to St Hugh’s School which is a special school for students between the ages of 11 and 19 years who have a range of learning difficulties, including moderate and severe learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorders, profound and complex needs.

The school is rated “Outstanding” by Ofsted and is a National Teaching School, leading an alliance of over one hundred partner and associate schools and educational providers.
