Memories

You are here:

On Wednesday 11th of November at 11 a.m. we held a one minute silence to remember those who gave their lives for peace and freedom and to those currently serving in our Armed Forces.

John Gallagher, a Chelsea Pensioner from the Royal Hospital Chelsea, returned this year to be part of our Remembrance Service. Everyone was pleased to see him and welcomed him back.

The Rev. Lee Gabel from St Lawrence’s church officiated at the ceremony, Sam Reid played The Last Post and Reveille; Paula Fiddall from the local T.A. Centre attended.

Two of our young people laid a wreath supported by the Chelsea Pensioner. The wreath was made by Team 4 HB and was based on the Tower of London Poppies.

KS3/4 SR made name tags of soldiers who have died in conflicts and we hung them from a tree in our Remembrance garden. The soldiers’ names were chosen using the surnames of everyone in the team.

‘In Flanders Fields’ was read by Cathy Corlett and ‘What Causes War’ was read by Jack from 10 SF.
