9DM have been learning about forensics in science and have investigated clues left at a crime scene in room 5. We have looked closely at our fingerprints and created a photofit from an eye-witness statement, looking carefully at our different facial features. We have taken accurate measurements of, for example, our height and hand span and analysed different handwriting to match it to that of the criminal. We used chromatography to investigate which pen the criminal used and made the bacteria on our hands glow under a UV light to investigate how germs are spread by touch. We also separated materials in a soil sample left at the crime scene and learnt about our skeletons and digestion.
